Oeschinensee, at last

The day after the Pointe de Cray, having struck camp, off to Kandersteg and the Oeschinensee that Emmanuelle had long dreamed of. 16 kilometres, 1,400 metres of climbing and dizzyingly panoramic paths.

The climb

Towards the lake

A footbridge over the stream, then the path climbs through the forest and up the slopes, facing the Oberland peaks still heavy with snow.

And then the lake appears between the fir trees, a milky blue-green, at the foot of huge rock walls. Not disappointed, by its colour or by anything else.

The panoramic trail

The lake from above

The path then climbs above the shore, on trails cut into the slope, dizzying and panoramic, with the lake shrinking below.

Forget-me-nots between the stones, pink catchfly in a crack in the rock, a dark peak above the forest on the way back: 16 kilometres and 1,400 metres for a dream come true.
