Lac de Cleuson
The Caribbean in Valais
The Cleuson dam holds back water of an unreal turquoise. Pink fireweed blooms on the banks, a dead tree keeps watch above the lake.
The light changes with every step: emerald under the slopes, silver against the sun. Swiss Caribbean experience, as Emmanuelle puts it.
The Grand Désert
At the foot of the glacier
The path follows the stream up the valley, between the fireweed, then through a chaos of boulders.
At the very end, Lac du Grand Désert, milky and dotted with rocks, beneath the peaks. A perfect hike.
