Day 1

To Derborence

Starting from Ovronnaz, up to the Col de la Chamosentze, past Lac de la Forcla, then the long descent to Derborence. Limestone ridges cut into the sky above the forests.

22 kilometres and 1,400 metres of climbing: we're dead, says the post. In the evening, Lac de Derborence reflects its fir trees and rock walls.

Day 2

The Poteu des Etales and Tsanfleuron

The next day, back up the Derborence valley towards the Poteu des Etales, on steep sections and a few airy spots. Higher up, golden grassy slopes and rocky peaks announce the plateau.

Then comes the Tsanfleuron pavement, vast limestone slabs carved by water, with flowers in the cracks and curious cows. Another 17 kilometres and 1,200 metres to Lac du Sanetsch, reached just in time to avoid the 800-metre descent to Gsteig.
