The route

Copper and ridge

Long-haired highland cattle, fields of fireweed, butterflies on scabious, and always the Dents du Midi opposite. The thin, grassy ridge runs to the pass, where the old customs post has given way to an imposing copper building that in the end sits well in the landscape.

A short walk, yet our muscles had clearly forgotten how to work. We dragged each other off the sun loungers and, once again, told ourselves how beautiful our corner of the world is.
