The bisse
Babbling kilometres
The climb starts along the Vercorin bisse, kilometres beside a babbling stream. In summer it's charming; on autumn mornings, rather dark and icy. We're glad to emerge into the sun at the head of the Réchy valley.
That's where the hiker's real life begins: five hundred metres up to the Ar du Tsan and its crystal-clear meanders, with the Rèche waterfall in sight.
The plateau
Under the golden larch
Sun in the face, frozen shade on the north slope: we sweat and shiver by turns. But up top, Christian is waiting, sitting under a little larch already dressed in gold, above the waterfall. That's also why we hike.
Another three hundred metres up to the Crêt-du-Midi on a gorgeous path, under a brilliant blue sky, the Weisshorn opposite. A sunny terrace and the traditional spritz.
