The Plateau des Tablettes and the Areuse Gorges
A Friday off to discover and revisit places dear to us above Lake Neuchâtel: a first loop to the Plateau des Tablettes from Rochefort, then a walk through the Areuse Gorges. A great success.

The whole lake
The Jura climbs hard, and then you come out onto views like these. From the Plateau des Tablettes, Lake Neuchâtel can be seen in its entirety, with Rochefort, our starting point, right below.
Opposite, the Creux du Van, seen from an unusual angle. Pastures open up between the firs, under a sky of fine white clouds.
The Areuse Gorges
Coolness and footbridges
After the first loop, off to the Areuse Gorges: green water reflecting the trees, footbridges clinging to the rock, mossy overhangs.
The path passes beneath great rock shelters before reaching the lakeshore, our Swiss Maldives, to rest our feet after the day's kilometres.
