The south side

Balconies over the plain

Starting from Jorasse, long balcony paths above the Rhône valley, light larches and grassy slopes. The trail slips under the cliffs, crosses shale gullies and gradually reveals Lac de Fully.

The lake appears deep blue, ringed with alpenroses, the hut perched above the water. We linger, the plain kilometres below.

The way back

Snowfields and marmots

The return crosses hollows where the snow has not yet melted, sometimes tinted pink by snow algae. Alpine asters, alpenroses, marmots darting between the stones.

The last descent to Ovronnaz faces the rock towers, legs heavy and hearts light.
