At the foot of the Dents du Midi
A steep climb through grass, a perfect ridge above Champéry, then the Anthème cirque: great limestone slabs, snowfields and pale green lakes lying at the foot of the Dents du Midi walls.
Cotton grass at the water's edge, an absolutely blue sky, Christian tiny before the cliffs. Good news: Emmanuelle kept up with him without slowing him down. Bad news: the descent, as always, goes straight down.
