The route

A thousand looks nicer

The Savalène valley, new to us, is favoured by a few large predators, a gamekeeper friend had told us. Not a snout in sight, but a long climb, so long, and hot, so hot.

At the pass, Christian sitting on the border stone, nine hundred metres on the counter. A thousand would look nicer: off to the summit cross. And there, the view down onto Lac d'Arvouin. Then round the lake on the side still snowy in spring, and a perfect loop.
