Walking back up from Monthey
Every spring, the Chevy gets a little stay at the garage for its post-winter check-up. We drive it down to Monthey… and walk back up. This year, in dreadful weather, the 1,300 metres of climbing were a real challenge.

The route · indicative
From Monthey
Under the viaducts
The path leaves town under the arches of the viaducts, between stone walls and the first greens of spring. A heart painted on a pillar, sunken paths in the forest.
It's raining, the mist is rising, and the path heads into the wet woods.
In the fog
The first training of the year
Footbridges, moss and tree trunks in the fog, then a road shining with rain, and finally the snow lingering at the edge of the path.
We'll have to train before tackling the summer hiking season. Then again, we never do 1,300 metres of climbing in summer. So it'll be fine.
