To the summit

Via the Col de Verne

The valley climbs gently towards the Col de Verne, between limestone cliffs and slopes of golden grass. At the pass, the border, and already the Dents du Midi in the distance.

The route then climbs between rocky ridges to the top of the Cornettes de Bise. From up there, Lake Geneva spreads out in its entirety under the summer haze.

The way back

Via Lac de Taney

Down between jagged crests and limestone pavement, then pastures and the rocky peak that towers over the alp.

Lac de Taney appears below, green beneath the Grammont, with its chalets clustered by the water. A must, the post simply says.
