8–12 April
Himba country and Epupa
Preparations in Windhoek, then north in a small convoy, with GEKO Expeditions. We discover Himba country at the pace of the tracks, more or less tricky, the savanna, its wildebeest and giant termite mounds, all the way to Epupa Falls and their rainbows. Just wow.
13–20 April
A mineral world
The real tracks begin. Folded mountains, stone mesas, vast plains and stony desert: an incredible mineral world where words run out.
21 April
Van Zyl's Pass
The mountain track said to be the hardest in Africa. We made it, brilliantly thanks to our guides, and with a few frights for some of us. Sublime. Along the way, the desert roses, the "bushman's poison", are in flower.
22 April
Engravings and red rocks
The magic of vastness. Rock engravings 27,000 years old, a petrified forest, red sandstone walls and 4×4 adventures at every turn. And a thousand other wonders in this sublime country.
Throughout the trip
Encounters on two, four or eight legs
Our lovely gift encounters, in complete freedom: desert elephants, giraffes, springbok, oryx, ostriches, wildebeest, zebras and the fur seals of Cape Cross. And all without even entering Etosha.
Late April
Dunes and serenity
To finish, the dunes: wind-rippled sand, a lone acacia, vastness and serenity. Namibia, April 2023, the dream of a lifetime.
